Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how APH Digital Careers (Pty) Ltd ("APH Digital Careers," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.aphdigitalcareers.com (the "Site") or use our services.

We are a South African company, and this Policy is written primarily in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Because we welcome visitors and job seekers from outside South Africa, we've also included short sections covering the UK/EU (GDPR) and US state privacy laws where relevant.

1. Who We Are

APH Digital Careers (Pty) Ltd is a South Africa-based remote work connector. We help job seekers find verified remote opportunities, including virtual assistant and other remote roles, by referring them to trusted partner platforms such as micro1 and CareerKey, using our referral links throughout the Site.

Registered address: 07 Oranje Hof South, 449 Sisulu Street, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, 0002

Contact email: APH_digital_Careers@outlook.com

2. How Our Site Works (Important Context)

APH Digital Careers connects job seekers to remote opportunities in two ways:

  • Referral links: Every link on our Site to a partner platform (such as micro1 or CareerKey) is a referral link. When you click through and sign up or apply directly on the partner's website, that information is collected by the partner under their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
  • Direct referrals by us: For certain opportunities, including virtual assistant and other remote roles, we collect your information directly (see Section 3) so that we can personally refer you to the relevant opportunity or partner, such as micro1.

3. Information We Do Collect Directly

a) Information you give us for referrals If you'd like us to refer you to a virtual assistant role, or another remote opportunity, we collect:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your contact details (e.g. phone number)

We only collect and share this information with your knowledge and consent, at the point you ask us to refer you. We use it to personally refer you to the relevant partner (such as micro1) or opportunity — see Section 5 for how it's shared.

b) Information you give us for other enquiries If you email us or otherwise reach out for support, we collect whatever information you choose to share in order to respond to you.

c) Information collected automatically Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical data when you visit the Site, including:

  • IP address and general location (country/city level)
  • Browser and device type
  • Pages viewed, time on page, and referring links
  • Which of our referral links you click

This is collected via cookies and similar tracking technologies, and is used for security, site performance, and understanding how visitors use the Site (e.g. via Google Analytics). See our [Cookie Policy] for details.

d) Advertising We are not currently running ads on the Site. If we introduce advertising in future (e.g. via Google AdSense), this may involve cookies used to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and you will be able to opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ads Settings. We'll update this Policy if that changes.

e) Sensitive information We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (e.g. race, religion, health, sexual orientation) about Site visitors.

4. Why We Use This Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Personally refer you (name, email, contact details) to virtual assistant and other remote opportunities, including to partners such as micro1
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site
  • Understand which content and referral links are useful to visitors
  • Respond to enquiries sent to us directly
  • Track referrals so our partners can attribute commissions correctly
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Sharing of Information

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Where you ask us to refer you to a virtual assistant or other remote opportunity, we share your name, email address, and contact details with the relevant partner (such as micro1) for the sole purpose of making that referral.
  • Where you sign up directly through one of our referral links instead, you provide your information directly to the partner, and we do not receive or share your personal details in that case.
  • Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be shared with service providers (e.g. Google Analytics) strictly to help us understand Site usage.
  • We may disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or sale of the business).

6. Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Essential site functionality
  • Analytics (understanding how visitors use the Site)
  • [If applicable] Advertising (via Google AdSense)

You can control cookies through your browser settings or via the cookie banner on our Site. See our full [Cookie Policy] for details.

7. International Visitors & Data Transfers

Our Site can be accessed globally, and we welcome visitors and job seekers from any country. While we are based in South Africa, some of the tools we use (e.g. Google Analytics) may process data outside South Africa, including in the United States or elsewhere. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected in line with this Policy and with the data protection law that applies in your country, wherever that may be.

8. Your Rights

We aim to respect the data protection rights of visitors wherever they are located, including under laws not specifically named below. In general, these rights typically include the right to know what information we hold about you, to access it, to request correction or deletion, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If your country's law gives you rights beyond what's listed here, you can still exercise them by contacting us at the details in Section 1, and we will do our best to accommodate your request in line with applicable law.

If you are in South Africa (POPIA): You have the right to:

  • Be notified that your personal information is being collected
  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal information
  • Object to the processing of your personal information
  • Complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we have not complied with POPIA

Information Regulator (South Africa): General enquiries: enquiries@inforegulator.org.za Complaints: PAIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za / POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za

If you are in the UK or EU (GDPR): You additionally have rights to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is typically legitimate interest (site operation/analytics) or your consent (cookies and referrals).

If you are a US resident: Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know what information is collected, to access it, correct it, or request deletion, and to opt out of "sale or sharing" as defined by applicable state law. We do not sell personal information.

If you are elsewhere in the world: Many other countries (e.g. Kenya, Nigeria, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, and others) have their own data protection laws. Wherever you are located, we apply the same basic protections described in this Policy, and we will honour requests to access, correct, or delete your information, and to limit how it is shared, to the extent required by the law that applies to you.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 1.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We retain the limited information we hold (e.g. from direct enquiries) only for as long as necessary to respond to you or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information we hold, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

11. Children

Our Services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
